Overview

Laborers in Local 185 are essential members of the construction workforce, performing a wide range of tasks that support building, highway, and infrastructure projects. Our members uphold safety, skill, and solidarity while working in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general construction site duties, including site preparation, cleanup, and material handling.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in concrete placement, demolition, trenching, and backfilling.
Load, unload, and distribute building materials to designated areas.
Follow all safety regulations, union standards, and project specifications.
Work collaboratively with other trades to ensure timely and quality project completion.

Qualifications

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Knowledge of basic construction practices and safety procedures.
Willingness to learn new skills and participate in union training programs.
Reliable transportation to job sites.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
Standing, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.
