Internship Overview

There is no better way to get a jump on your construction career and build a foundation for success than through an estimating or field internship with a reputable, industry-leading firm. Syblon Reid’s internship program provides mentoring and hands-on, real-world experience while you pursue a college degree in construction management or other related fields. Syblon Reid offers paid internships to enthusiastic, self-motivated students interested in learning all aspects of the heavy civil construction industry. Many of our full-time employees started with an internship at Syblon Reid. 

Syblon Reid has 3 office locations:  
California - Folsom; Fresno
Idaho - Boise

Work will be performed at the project site and in the office.  Please indicate your location preference when applying. 

Intern Role

Estimating Interns will perform the following duties:

  • Reviewing plans, specifications, and other bid documents
  • Performing quantity take-offs
  • Soliciting bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Assisting in the estimating process
  • Attending pre-bid meetings
  • Reviewing project submittal requirements and preparing response packages
  • Preparing Requests for Information (RFI's)
  • Providing technical assistance to field personnel

Desired qualifications

Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong communication skills and a detail-oriented focus. Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and SketchUp is a plus.
